WISH LIST: THESE ARE ITEMS OR ASSISTANCE THAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR AND WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE!
BOARD MEMBERS:
Our Chaplaincy depends on volunteers. In order to maintain our non-profit we must have a board to direct and approve activities. It would be helpful for candidates to have internet access and email. We have a professional tax advisor serving as our Treasurer. This insures that we are compliant on all of our financial requirements. This makes serving on our board a much simpler and easier commitment.
CHAPLAIN:
We would love to develop relationships with ministers in the local area who would be willing to support our ministry. If you know of a qualified pastor who is retired and has a heart for service who would be willing to offer their services on a part time basis we would love to meet them.
COMMUNICATIONS PERSON:
Do you or someone you know have a talent for sending thank you letters and correspondence? This is an area that we really need help in. When people donate for events we could use someone who is willing to follow up with correspondence. It is also our hope to do more web based communications such as email in an effort to conserve resources and to be "green" in our business practices.
COUNCIL MEMBERS:
We currently have a council which meets at least four times per year for planning purposes. This is an important part of our organization and gives us the opportunity to set goals and discuss our direction as an organization and the needs of the community.
OUTREACH TO LOCAL CHURCHES:
This has been a topic in our meetings for many years. Local churches are often very willing to offer support not only in the form of donations but in many other areas as well. If your church or a church you know of is interested in a "home mission project" it would be wonderful to develop relationships with them. These are relationships that we are interested in cultivating.
CATHOLIC PREIST:
There is a large Catholic population at the track and we would like to respect their practices and beliefs by having a Priest who would be willing to come to the track and hold Mass and offer communion. This would help a lot of the people who live on the track and have limited access to transportation.
Sometimes all that is needed is to get the word out about projects and offer an introduction to a key person who can help fill that need! Thanks in advance for your time and effort to consider our WISH LIST! Many hands makes for little work! Large projects become manageable when enough people pitch in!
